When playing Yu gi oh, spell card hero mask, do I gain atk of monster, effects of monster?

I played the card hero mask on elemental hero bladeedge... the card says that I treat the selected monster (burstinatrix) as the elemental hero's name. No, you simply change the name of the card. This is useful in contact fusing neo-spacians with other cards other than Neos or Neos Alius with its Gemini ability active. Other than contact fusing, or using polymerization on a card on the field, hero mask is not very useful.When playing Yu gi oh, spell card hero mask, do I gain atk of monster, effects of monster?
It's just the name only so you can't use bladedge's effect, ATK, or DEF. This card main idea is to use for fusion the Elemental Heros.
