first, i would suggest finding colors that look really good on you. then find a mask that you like (sorry, no help on where to find them). use the mask as a reference - is it silver? gold? feathered? classic? flowery? use that as a guide to what to wear. find dresses you like in colors that look good on you and that work with the mask. the point of the ball is the masks, so make it the focal point. dress fabulously and have a great night! if you don't the people that well, if you just find one person you know well your fine. but your all in masks...so, maybe take on that persona? just be friendly and you'll be fine. they might not know who you are underneath the mask, so they won't have an judgements about you (if the do, then you don't want to be friends with them anyway). also, like someone mentioned above, watch the Gossip Girl episode ';Victor, Victrola'; (episode 7) for fashion hints.Im going to a masquerade ball and want to dress stylish-ly. That is so cool. I've always wanted to go to a masquerade ball...I think it would be so mysteriously thrilling, yet romantic all at the same time. I wonder what the ball is for...birthday, holiday...? lol But it sounds like so much fun. What you should do is rent a really pretty sort of Victorian, or Elizabethan (sp) dress from a costume store, and if you want then also rent a mask. Even though you're going to a ball it doesn't mean that you especially have to have a mask, but it would be cool to have one, so I recommend that you do....but be sure to dress very old fashion/beautiful and have a blast. And if a cute guy asks you to dance then don't refuse!!! lol After all...even though you won't know many people there that doesn't mean that you won't meet new awesome people!
Oooh, I went to one of those quite recently actually. Its really great fun! To be stylish, you really don't have to go by certain rules, or follow what some dumb website tells you to wear. Just go fishing around, walk down some nice shopping districts in your area and look at dresses. Usually you will find a sort of pattern in the style of dress that you like. Make sure you just try things on! And your mask doesn't even have to match your dress. You could go for a theme like an extravagant dress with a simple mask, or vice versa. A great place to get masks is Malabar, although they might be a bit pricey. :)
